![]() ![]() ![]() I honestly had to double checked to see if I just got a shit ending. The game is smart in a way because it keeps you thinking something else will happen, that this is just the regular old story that is just foreshadowing for the real kicker, but nope, the game wraps the cliche and goodbye, that's it. How many times have you heard about the troubled/rebel teenager who wants to follow love unconditionally but there are obstacles but at the end loves triumph? Yeah, it has been done to death. My main problem with this game is how shallow, cliche, and uninteresting the plot is. Now, if you are still reading please take into consideration there will be huge SPOILER SO PLEASE IF YOU DONT WANNA KNOW THE STORY STOP READING. Secondly, Gone Home was able to concisely tell a story that was well paced and easy to understand but without losing its depth. Firstly this game was capable of being scary just by its atmosphere, that is really hard to pull out and I appreciate it. When I started the game I knew only 2 things, that it was narrative driven and that it had no gameplay besides going around collecting notes and listening to audio clips, I was fine with that from the beginning.īefore criticising the game let point out a few things I enjoyed. Let me start by saying I went into this game with a lot of hype behind it, since when it came out a lot of people praised it let me also say I have no issues with games that have little to no gameplay. ![]()
